Committed to the fight against climate change and the reduction of inequalities advocate for over 20 years, Leïla Copti founded COPTICOM in 2011 to work towards disseminating the values of resilience and social solidarity. Today, she shares her expertise with over 300 customers and partners.
Motivated by social dialogue and common good, Leïla Copti cofounded several influential groups such as TRANSIT, the ARIANE Alliance, SWITCH, the Montreal Climate Partnership, “Dialogues pour le Climat” (climate dialogue) and the “Communauté de pratique en communication climatique” (community of practice in climate communication). She created and coordinated the G15+ to promote Quebec’s transition towards a united, prosperous and green society.
Leïla Copti also coordinated consultative processes on Montreal’s Metropolitan Community’s Land Use and Development Plan, the Government of Quebec’s Sustainable Mobility Policy and Plan for a Green Economy. She is behind campaigns to support the community of Restigouche – to protect its drinking water – and Anticosti – for its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Her leadership was recognized in 2018 by the Canadian Minister of the Environment at the “Climate Change Leadership Summit: Women in Action for the Climate”. Since 2021, Leïla Copti is one of the “100 women entrepreneurs in Quebec who are changing the world” according to Femmessor, and was a finalist for the Prix Femmes d’Affaires du Québec” (business women from Quebec Award) in the category “Impact Entrepreneur – Femmes en movement de Desjardins” in 2021.
