Former Women of Distinction Award laureate Léa Clermont-Dion is a director, political scientist, author and filmmaker. Holder of a doctorate in political ideology from Laval University, her thesis was about the growing radicalization of anti-feminist actors on social networks.
She also directed the feature film Je vous salue salope. In addition, Léa Clermont-Dion is behind a medium-length documentary on Janette Bertrand’s work in Quebec society which was launched on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 on Télé-Québec.
Léa Clermont-Dion’s social involvement towards the emancipation of women has been recognized in Canada for the past fifteen years. In 2019, she was selected by the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada to represent the country at Women Deliver, a major international event for women’s rights.
