Florence-Olivia and Marie-Emmanuelle Genesse, the Canadian sisters behind The Sis (@the.sisofficial), are PhD researchers in law. As public figures and experts on sexual and domestic violence, their mission is to make the world a fairer place by making education accessible.
With the democratization of their research, they created The Sis (@the.sisofficial) which has more than 400,000 subscribers (TikTok/Instagram). Thanks to their contributions, they have been recognized as one of the 15 most influential people in Quebec in 2022. Their social network accounts aim to popularize a silent hand signal that can be used when at risk of domestic violence. This has saved the lives of two women and has now been featured in 1,800 stories with a reach of over 1.1 billion people.
